SHOW NOTES: Episode 33
Welcome to The Path to Motherhood Podcast. Today, I wanted to have a little heart to heart and share where I'm at, what's going on, and be honest with you. I am going to give you an update on my own journey that I think is going to be something that a lot of you can relate to at some point in your fertility journey.
On today’s episode, I thought that I would share where I am on my own fertility journey because some of you might be on that same journey and maybe this is something that you can resonate with. My hope is that hearing from my heart will give you a little bit of solace and maybe makes you feel a little less alone because this journey can be very lonely. This wouldn't be an infertility podcast if we didn't talk about the tough days. So, I wanted to share my tough day with you because I know it might be helpful to know it’s not all good news and not all cycles are successful. You start imagining that life from the moment you get a scheduled transfer, right before anything has happened. Then you have the transfer and you have this little embryo on board and you are just praying and hoping constantly that this is a time that it works out.
We just had our beta day for our third frozen embryo transfer and it was negative and even though I was expecting it to be negative, it was a tough pill to swallow. I just wanted to let you know that I am grieving what could have been and acknowledge any of you that are also in that grief and disappointment. We don’t have to act like the grief and disappointment is not there and just move on. We get to acknowledge it and let ourselves feel the disappointment, sadness, and anger but at the same time be so grateful for the world around us and live a life that you can enjoy and be proud of. We truly have nothing in life, and especially nothing on this journey that is certain so we need to learn how to continue showing up in life in ways that feel doable while also acknowledging that pain. You can have doubt and fear and grief and also begin to build up hope for the next transfer. Allow yourself to grieve and find moments where you get to enjoy the present moment but also find joy and belief of the possibility in the future.
