The Path To Motherhood Podcast

The most common thing I hear from everyone is the journey is such a rollercoaster.

Part 1: Emotional Burnout | Infertility Rollercoaster Mini Series

SHOW NOTES: Episode 28

There are three main foundational pillars that I help women with on their infertility journeys. These steps help women find a path where they can get to a place where infertility doesn’t feel like it’s consuming them or like they are struggling through the process.

On today’s episode I dive into the first pillar of my infertility rollercoaster mini series, which is emotional burnout. The most common thing I hear women come to me and say is that the journey feels like such a rollercoaster. I want you to know it doesn’t have to be this way. All of our journeys look different and we are all in different phases of that journey.

At the end of the day, the similarity amongst all of us on our path to motherhood is that our brains are wired to seek certainty and we begin to notice how little control we actually have over the situation. When you are used to things always going your way and then infertility is thrown at you, you either start to feel emotional burnout and just push through the process or the emotional burnout has literally forced you to pause your journey.

For the first foundational pillar, we need to acknowledge where we are with the struggle and give ourselves some grace and compassion, without judgment. The first week of this series, I want you to take some time to notice how you’re feeling and how consumed you are by your emotions in this journey. Get curious about where your thoughts are. Ask yourself what you have focused on and what does the emotional burnout of this trying to conceive journey look like for you.

I know this topic is not very fun, but we can't work through the other two steps I am going to talk about in this series if we haven't allowed ourselves to just simply notice where we are. If we don't know where we're coming from, we will just simply keep repeating the same thing. If you feel better and your emotions are more managed and you're feeling under control, I am willing to bet your fertility will improve and your likelihood of conceiving will improve.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, it's time to reach out. Let's have a chat about how we can work together and let me help you do the steps. I would love to hear how this episode helped you!
